I have been working to market and promote my music on social media for years, but playing the social media game not only drained me, it brought no results.

From the beginning of 2021 to the beginning of 2025, I posted an average of three times a day on tiktok, several posts a week on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube. I did my best to learn the algorithm, be myself, and follow trends when they fit my niche.
​
Nothing I did, despite following every rule and trend, brought any results for my music or streaming.

In 2023 I made a throwaway post and got what every artists dreams of -- a viral post. I was so excited to have millions of views, thousands of new followers, and new fans to meet.

I quickly made more videos that were about my own music in hopes that the hundreds of thousands visiting my profile would discover my music.

But they didn't care about my music. I didn't get a surge in streams. All I got was more requests for videos about the guitar made out of a 2x4.

I didn't want to be the "2x4 guy". I am a musician.

After years of trying social media, I was burnt out. I was tired of spending more time creating videos than on my music. Videos that were forced to compete with an entire algorithm full of influencers, puppy videos, and viral trends.

Something had to change. And so I began to dream of and mold a new platform, to level the playing field and bring connection between artists and fans.

Meritune™ will be for social media what Creem magazine or Rolling Stone magazine was for print media years ago - a place to get lost reading about the groups you enjoy and fall in love with; rereading articles and listening to songs over and over, because of how they are artistically and thoughtfully prepared.
